Please measure your lampshade according to the example here. Note that measurements are to the OUTSIDE of the frame. Binding tape, Rolled edges, or trim will increase the overall dimensions. If you need additional help, please take a look at this reference page or click here to give us a call at the support phone number listed at the top of this website. Diffusers: Diffusers are the pieces of acrylic or polystyrene that sit in the top or bottom of the lampshade and (literally) diffuse the light bulb's direct light. Diffusers often are placed in the bottom of pendant lampshades when the lampshade sits above eye level, but can go in just about any lampshade. Acrylic diffusers are (by far) the most common type and are a milky white. Polystyrene diffusers are the same material used in the lampshade sides and are normally made in matching or contrasting material to the lampshade. Typically, if a white diffuser is desired, acrylic is used. If choosing a polystyrene diffuser, please put a note into the 'Special Instructions' area for your desired color (white, matching, or contrasting). Diffusers are optional and are not typical. Production Lead Time: Production Lead Time represents the number of business days it takes us to manufacture your lampshade. Orders placed after 2pm Central will be processed the next business day. If any requested lampshade specifications effect the production lead time noted, you will be contacted for options. Production Lead time begins when all customer supplied materials (if any) arrive at the factory location. PLEASE NOTE: It will take additional time to ship your lampshade from our location to you. Our lampshades all ship via FedEX Ground Shipping - if you need faster shipping, please contact us or put your instructions into the "Special Instructions" area to the left. If you have a shipping account or a specific carrier you would like us to use, please let us know. Special Instructions: We pay close attention to 'Special Instructions'. Please use the 'Special Instructions' area to give us any additional specifications or instructions. You can also use this area for any questions or comments that you might have. | |||||
Hardback Fabric/Material Types: Please browse through our in-stock fabrics below. In the "MATERIAL" list above, you will be asked to choose a fabric. Be aware that every monitor and printer displays the same color differently. Because of color variations from electronic to real-life, it is always prudent to verify your fabric color and selection by ordering a swatch. Hardback Swatch Ordering Ordering a swatch is always recommeneded. Please click here to order online, or click here to send us an email or give us a call. Customer's Own Material (COM) Remember, if you have a fabric at home or see something online that you would like to make your lampshade out of, send it to us! We can use that, too! Select the option for "Customer's Own Material" under the "Material" drop-down list in the order form above. When using this option, please click here to contact us (phone call or email) to determine how much material we will need to create your lamp shade. "Production Lead Time" begins when your material is received. For COM, we have 3 different interior colors that we can laminate to: Standard White (like all of our stock materials, Gold (satin finish), and Silver (satin finish). We can provide swatch sample of either of these for your viewing. If you are not sure, or you don't specify, we will laminate to our most common polystyrene, the white. NOTE1: PROPER LAMINATION: (1) Some fabrics (normally more expensive) will have 2 layers. This is problematic in our lamination process as the inner layer will laminate nicely, but the outer layer tends to 'bubble up' since it is not adhering to anything. Some 2-layer materials are bound together better than others, but if a 2-layer material is sent in, we cannot gaurentee proper lamination. (2) Embroidered material does not normally laminate properly. Depending on the amount of "thread bulk" on the back of the material, you will have visible bubbles showing after the lamination. You are welcome to send us a "test piece" of your embroidery for us to provide feedback on, otherwise, send us embroidered material at your own risk of proper lamination. NOTE2: MAXIMUM DAMAGE PAYOUT: We take care and time during lamination of your material. Sometimes mistakes happen, though. We will take responsibility for errors that we make during our processing up to $50/yard of material (with receipt). IF YOUR MATERIAL IS MORE THAN $50/yard, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! NOTE3: PLEASE TALK TO US ABOUT YOUR TRIM OPTIONS if you are going to send us your material. In general, we won't have any 'matching trim' for your material. Most customers use the 'Rolled Edge' option - clean and modern and looks awesome with patterns - but you can also send us your bias-cut, flexible trim or choose a contrasting trim from our stock. You can mail your material to: 521 Baltimore Ave, Albertville, AL, 35950. Click Here to See Some Examples of Customer's Own Material (COM) Lampshades! Materials Gallery (Hardback Only)HARDBACK SWATCH VIEWING INSTRUCTIONS: Click on a swatch below to view a larger photo of the material. If your screen allows, you can open more than one swatch at a time AND you can reposition the swatch to see two or three together. Click on the larger swatch (or the "X" in the right corner) to close down the larger photo.PLEASE NOTE: Due to coloring and hue variations between electronic swatches and real-life, it is ALWAYS recommended to order a swatch if color is critical. PLEASE ALSO NOTE: Due to variations in dye lots and changes in vendor/suppliers, any swatch that is over 90 days old should be reordered to ensure accurate colors and textures. LINEN
